Discover what we're about!
Traditionally known as a civic club, Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Our White Oak Golden K club is committed to doing service that is close to our hearts and crucial to Newnan and Coweta County, Georgia.
A mosaic of ordinary people doing extraordinary things to uplift our community, we’re a club of men 50+ years of age. We’d love for you to see what we’re all about. We meet on the first and third Thursday of each month at 9:00 am at the Newnan Country Club. On the fourth Thursday of each month we have a business meeting via Zoom.
Service is the heart and soul of any Kiwanis club. Here are some of the things that the White Oak Golden K club does on a regular basis throughout the year:
- Sponsor student clubs in local schools.
- Bring in large amounts for the Salvation Army.
- Financially support numerous community service organizations.
- Give scholarships to deserving students in the county.
- Pick up trash on McIntosh Pkwy.
- Partner with other Kiwanis clubs to sponsor Citizen of the Year.
Meeting our community service goals does, of necessity, require fund-raising. But this provides opportunities for a lot of fun and fellowship. These activities include:
- Parking cars at the Coweta County Fair.
- Sponsoring an annual golf tournament.
- Selling pecans.
