Human and Spiritual Values
Committee
Human and Spiritual Values have been a part of Kiwanis since the
development of its Objects in 1922. The first Object of Kiwanis is
“to give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the
material values of life.” The result is the clubs activities related
to:
Church activities
Transporting people to
their places of worship
Ministries to the poor
Ministries to the sick
(including those hospitalized and in nursing homes)
Supporting children’s
assistance groups (such as children’s homes)
Supporting counseling
ministries
One particular event
sponsored each year by this committee is our Annual Prayer Breakfast,
which is a joint meeting of the White Oak Golden K and the Coweta
Kiwanis Club. Both clubs meet together each year for this event.
Members are encouraged to
strive to meet the human and spiritual needs in their community
through as many avenues as possible. Each month members turn in their
service hours in the many areas supported by Kiwanis, and each month
our members serve hundreds of hours, touching the lives of many
hundreds of people throughout our community.
